HelloI suppose you are referring to the Nakamichi 700 Tri Tracer or 700II, not to the 700 ZXL or ZXE
My opinion:
Supposing that it works well I would buy it for no more than 50 - 70 Euros/dollars.
Otherwise, if preserving the vintageness of your system is not absolutely prioritary, and considering that you haven't discovered the 'good cassette' sound, I would look for a better deck. Nothing less than a three head mid 80's nakamichi. Like a 582, 482, BX-300, CR-3, CR-4, LX-5. They should be more reliable (maybe the BX-300 is not due to the famouse idler wheel missengeneering). If you can test them before you buy, do it. We are talking about very aged devices.
This will make you discover the sound quality of NAKAMICHI and you will recover the time lost, like I'm doing these days.
There are other brands, with good decks. Post here asking for advice if you find something else.
Peace
