Re: NEWB here looking into a R2R for first time

Thanks guys all good info. The conserns about Age of these machines is part and parcel with what I want to do. I am afterall looking for a Source to go with a system based on a 1964 Scott 233 Tube Amp. So the closer I get to that age the happier I will be.

I'm going to go look at the TEAC tomorrow morning and if it works and looks good as the seller says it will most likely come home with me.

As to the comments on getting a 10" reel machine I simply don't have room within the area my stereo gear is allowed in the living room. So a 7" machine is what I'm going to have.

I'll let you all know how it comes out. The good news is the seller has one recorded tape with the machine so I can at least make sure it makes sound.

Thanks
