that since he is in and out of hospital lately I will get him a new one, I don't want to get a good used one that then goes south. I searched around and found the tascam 102 MKII. It's more expensive than some others but it seems bullet proof and they still make it. The denon drm 555 didn't have the best reviews and the yamaha mentioned below is no longer available. I'll let you know how it works out. Thanks again. Norm
