Most masters cut with this prior to 1966 are still in very good condition. When low noise, higher coercivity tapes appeared around 1967 with much smaller particles they re-engineered the binder. This new binder did not have longevity as it's strong suit and most masters cut with the so called "low noise" tapes suffer from binder failure. Binder failure is a very significant problem in all magnetic media and lifespan is numbered lower than optical media. The magnetic particles just fall off the tape along with your music or data.
