Gonzo!!I was in exsctly the same position 12 months ago. The best to be had, new, was the Yamaha KX-393. But fear not - it's a robust unit with great performance and they won't be disappointed. The tape trim is a wonderful tool for tuning in those older tapes that your folks want to get the best out of.
They can be had if you hunt around - especially via the net.
