Interesting and humorous posts. I mentioned to Danny a while back that we probably ought to support anyone who is crazy enough to try to get tape out these days. Perhaps that makes me one of the ATR stooges - if so, I want to be Shemp, though my hair is more like Larry's these days...What I can offer to the database is that my bro Paul has tried the ATR Magnetics tape and recently the RMGI 468 as well. He says they are both great.
ATR Magnetics won't be slitting 1/4" for a while yet. They will first make tape for markets with a reasonable volume demand - 2" and 1/2". That should give you guys some time to fume about ATR Magnetics 1/4" for a while yet, and since the RMGI tape is available now it ought to work out for everyone.
All of them are spendy, as is GP9.
