I have a Teac A-6300 and will be recording mostly from vinyl with a Hagerman Bugle phono stage. Everything will be close by--interconnects will be around a meter long.The preamp I was looking at was Hagerman's Clarinet. However, if I'll have to add a buffer, I should stick with something used...
