7 1/2 should be quite good with the Revox. What you get with 15ips is more headroom (which you don't really need with LPs with already limited dynamic range--unlike live music), a bit less noise (probably ditto), maybe more high frequency extension (but not much audible IF the machine is set up properly for the type of tape you will use).SET-UP is what will have the biggest influence in the sound of the machine, have the heads well aligned and the electronics set up for the type of tape you will use. Take the money you would spend on tape at 15 and find someone who can set up the machine properly...There was a reason that engineers in the old days' top studios would re-calibrate the machines before every session!
