I have a nice Revox B77-mk2 2track machine, and have made a few tapes onto some older Maxell udxl 7" reels at 7.5"ips.The sound is excellent and hard to distinguish between the two.#1- Would recording at 15ips make much differance or would this be overkill?
#2-When monitoring the vu meters while recording I have been keeping the peak levels at around -6db,with some peaks hitting 0db.The red flashing leds get erratic if I go much higher.Does this sound right?.And should I play with the levels while recording?.
#3-I will be buying some new 10" tape and reels from US recording. What would be a excellent tape to use with the B-77?.And should I also get some nab adapters?
I already have the Handy-mag de-mag.Thanks for any help!
Rob.
