I'm sure we all frown on cannabilism, but after I found a seemingly mint 64 at a lawn sale and discovered that it wasn't really working, I opened it up and found about a dozen pristine Telefunken 12Axx tube in it. I'm still using its 12AX7s in my phonostage, and the others went for more than $100, and this was years ago. Just something to ponder.
