I couldn't pass up a wounded Harman Kardon 1000 cassette deck at my local thrift store. It lights up fine but the transport doesn't turn. No play, no FF, no RW. Cosmetically 8.5/10 or better.I would like opinions on if this deck is worth fixing up, and if so, where to start fixing it. I have cleaned and lubricated decks before as well as changed belts (on reel to reel recorders.)
I wanted one of these really badly in about 1975 while in college. Its appearance matches the turntable in my vintage system, a Sony 2250.
