Hey Sour Milk Moon
Yes, I mix vinyl and CD sources when I make my dub tapes.
Since I have about 50/50 vinyl vs. Compact Disc (and still buy a ton of vinyl), I have great success using both formats. I recently bought an SAE scratch and tick remover, and it's making a few of my more vintage albums viable again. As long as they're not too bad (overall, I have a very solid clean collection), but you know, we all have those real oldies that we can't get rid of that have some ticks and noise.

I find that it doesn't much matter with Rock since it's usually played at high volune, but some of the spacey or softer tracks, it can be a real improvement, especially with the dynamics of classical music.

Overall, I still prefer to buy vinyl, but sometimes buy CD just for the portability. Analog rules! Stickwork
