Re: Pinch roller cleaner

Hi, Ampheat:

Rubber Renu is okay to use. Someone somewhere once mentioned that the use of isopropyl alcohol on rubber pinch rollers tended to dry out the rubber itself over time. They mentioned that they switched to using Formula 409 and never had any problems with crazing or further deterioration.

That is what I once read, so I am only suggesting it might be a possibility--subject to further verification, of course!

Here is one of these sources mentioning Formula 409:

"Don't use alcohol to clean the rubber pinch roller, as it can dry out the roller and shorten its life. Formula 409, Fantastic, or even water are preferred for this application."

Such information appears elsewhere on the web.
