I second the comments about cassette v other sources. I have a CR-7 with an otherwise fairly humble system (Audiolab 8000a amp & Kef Coda 2 speakers from 1982), along with a Linn Sondek/Basik/k9 cartridge and Rotel 965 CD plater, and the CR-7 beats the other sources for sheer realism. It has a rich sound even the turntable has trouble equalling.
