Like any piece of aging equipment, time and money has to be spent on replacing tubes and electrolytic capacitors and lubrication and changing belts. Can and cheap aluminum electrolytic caps have an electrolyte that is caustic and eats them up from the inside out. The record head is cross field (two heads), and their alignment is relatively critical. The electronics as I recall is all 12ax7a tubes except for the rectifier. Sure it's work restoring. The capstan bushings get lost. Ray Hughes
