Kuja, congrats on a great catch. who cares how it sounds when it looks like a million bucks and your rack will be gorgeous :-)Serioulsy, I have found so far that nothing can touch a good Nak.
The secret are Naks heads.Although I know this, I keep on buying other top decks for their beauty. Like B&O 9000 and Alpine for example. I want this one as well.
For me, cassette deck is a pinnacle of mechanical engineering. Every top deck has a soul, like sport car. And it is much cheaper and much easier to store :-)To perform optimally, any deck needs thorough cleaning.
-Use zippo fuel on an ordinary white cloth, rub the RCA connectors until all the dirt comes down and the cloth remains white. Put some contact cleaner afterwards.
-demagnetize heads. If you do not have head demagnetizer, look for DIY projects online, it is simple to make.
-use good interconnects. I was amazed how much information can be
-fight vibration. Use reversible tweaks in case you decide to sell it one day.
