and then to 'onkyo'About my opinion, I've only had one ONKYO TA-2570 and it was a wonderful deck in all aspects but quality sound (it was just 'good'). No onkyo deck is known to be a first class deck, though some of them can be very good, but no exceptional.
In fact in this famous list:
http://www.niji.or.jp/home/k-nisi/There are just one or two onkyo that were probably made by nakamichi (who made some models time ago for them).
Your deck seems to be quite in the medium-low class. If you are going to use cassette, I would consider some better oportunity.
