Hey Braxus,
Cant blame you, if you never hear a Nak. I own an excellent Nak, and have had the fortune over the past 30 years of listening to most of their best Decks, Dragon, CR7a, ZX9, and most others, tht were at the top. Living in Phila, PA area, and traveling to NY plenty, with only High End audio on my mind, I have got to listen to the systems costing as much as homes. Also, my system itself, is close enough to the value of my home, did most of it, while single, and no kids. I can assure you, that being an open minded audiophile, the Tandberg will Kick Butt over the Dragon, and I mean in A/B/X listening tests, and also several other decks by Tandberg can do the same. Also TEAC, Revox, and a few others are capable of the same. But Tandberg stands tall above all cassette decks.Especially the 3014, 3014A, 3004, and of course the 910/911 Pro series. I have 2 close friends with 3014A machines as we speak, they have used them plenty, with no servicing to date, or mods, just general cleaning, maintenance.....and they are just amazing. If you want to really know about these, pay attention to dolph's posts....he has the credibility to his claims. As far as Kevin and his logic, I can only tell you, that if you join Naktalk, you will see exactly where his input comes from, a pipeline from Naktalk. I even gave him info on my Tandberg Tech. and not even a day later, he was posting how great the tech is, and how he knows him, where he was born, etc....yet ak him what kind of system he has, and who has worked on his damaged Ebay scores, yet he will be first in line to put down Tandberg, or its parts sources, etc.....I know of a couple great Tandberg resources, and Techs, both were Tandberg Authorized Service Techs, with parts still available. And still working on them. Plus they know Tandberg like the back of their hand, if need be to service them. I just resent when someon without experience engages in deck arguements, having nothing to go on, except what they are told, or read by some joe shmoe on the net.
