Seriously. Don't be discouraged if there are no gems in your first batch of commercial R-R tapes. Joel's Brubeck/Time Out is the exception, not the rule. There are enough stunning ones out there to keep me buying on Ebay and elsewhere, but the typical buy is nothing special, sonically. And the sellers don't have the foggiest idea of what they probably picked up at their last estate sale. Nor a deck to play them on.
But keep at it. There's gold to be mined.
