The packaging you see is just the cassette cartridge and a take-up reel. You also get 3 reels of tape with it when you buy it as a set. There was no real point in it other than good looks as the Teac tape at the time was pretty decent.

These were available (at least in Canada) in the early 80's. I still have the cassette and 3 (mini) reels of tape that I still use. However, when old, I noted that the tape may not track straight.
