Problem Changing My Preferences

I just noticed that my preferences don't allow me to get mail at all. I tried to change it to get mail from registered inmates. After I hit the update button I got an error message that said my password was incorrect, despite the fact that I had just used it to sign in and use it regularly without any problem. And, no, my caps lock isn't on . . . What's up?
