I can't change the number on photos

Hi Rod - I only looked here briefly so might have missed a similar posting.
I was able to upload a new photo for my gallery, but can't change the order number of existing ones OR the new one.
It does show up at the very end of my gallery with the appropriate number, but I wanted to make it show up in the middle of some existing photos. I also tried to renumber some existing ones so I could fit this one in between, but once again - can't make an "order number" change stick.
Thanks once again for the great "hang out" . . . . you have no idea how much I look forward to visiting more than once a day. Fran DiCarlo (ID = ruffscruff)
