Changing my name (moniker)

I wish to change my name. I tried altering my info but it doesnt seem to hold. I guess I need a moderator to OK the change or something. Please fill me in and spare the dramatic reasons why changing ones name is a bad thing. Im not some netgeek looking to wreck someones day. I just want to change my moniker.
