Dynaco St-120 Solid state amp - Blown ...I think

Hi there
I have just got into my possession of a Dynaco Stereo 120.
In Australia the voltage is 240v.
I have a step down 240v to 110v transformer here. I used it with the amp, everthing was fine. Then I noticed in the side if the Dynaco that said 120v 50/60 hz use 3A slo blo fuse,
240v 50/60 hz use 1.5A slo blo fuse.
So I say to myself, hmmmmm this does 240v too.
Plugged it in and it blew the fuse and some other stuff.
I used a temporary fuse and plugged it back to the 110v transformer and now one side is dead with no sound and the other side is soft and crackley and fading I think. Help...... what do I do.
The little that I know of electronics is that the diodes felt hot, so I suspect that that is blown, do I need to look for anything else for problems or do I just replace the diodes?
