I'll let Evanna know how much you like the preamp when I see her at CES later this week. It is not unsual to see small improvements in sound quality as a tube pre ages past its first hundred hours of use up to sveral hundred hour point.
The Shrimp is turning out to be one of my favorite preamps.... it low voltage gain mates well with todays high output level source components and it couples great with tube and solid state gear from a technical standpoint. It's bodied, clear, and dynamic presentation makes it one of the great PRAT preamps in its price class that does not sacrifice musicality.
P.S. Your Adcom 5800 has already found itself a nice new home.
