Re: Audiogon Feedback System

Sadly, the feedback system on Audiogon is not such a good tool. Reasons are as follows:

1) If a purchaser has an issue with a merchant, the purchaser has to submit a negative feedback response. However, the merchant needs to respond or acknowledge the feedback before it gets posted. The feedback system should allow the negative feedback to get posted and the vendor to respond in a public fashion to the issue. This would mean that the vendor could not "hide" negative feedback items.

2) Audigon also doesn't allow posts to be submitted on their forum unless they moderator has approved the post. If you have a beef with a vendor, Audiogon will most likely not allow the post to reach their forum - warning potential other purchasers.

3) Audiogon sales department will fail to respond to issues that you direct to their attention regarding a vendor. After all, the vendors provide a large amount of cashflow to sites such as Audiogon. Why would Audiogon bite the hand that feeds it?

I love Audiogon, but just wish they'd fix a few quirks in their model. If they did, companies such as ATS would experience a severe crunch in their sales. It's pretty clear to see why ATS has its focus on Audiogon, because it allows them to hold all the ace cards in the deck.
