A couple of times where I felt comfortable with the seller, I have requested that the seller relist the item (typically with a buy-it-now price at the price that we agreed on. When I have done that, there was no problem. I do admit that my Buy-it-now experiences mainly preceded the "my messages" feature which also lends some security to the transaction, since you know for sure that it is a transaction through E-bay.
However, I have alos got "second chance offers" in situations where I felt that the seller was using a shill to drive up the price, with the security of offering a "second chance. Those experiences have really soured me on second chance offers.
