Is this a new Ebay/PayPal scam

Below is the message I received that looked just like the usual inquiry you receive from Ebay - EXCEPT - when I clicked "reply" it redirected me to Ebay UK where I'm not even a member. Got to the sign-in page and backed out. Inquiry was for an item # I didn't have and was from a member I didn't recognize. Plus, it was for an auction ended October 28th!!
BTW-Next I suppose I'll search his moniker on Ebay. His message came to my in box but does not appear under "my messages" in Ebay. Hmmmmmmm.
