eBay and shill bidders...

So I auctioned an amp on ebay. All was well till the end when some zero feedback new member (with an anonymous free email account) sniped the auction. I am familiar with shills cancelling out bids to try and win at a lower price... do they also use shills to bid the item way up and not pay so they can get the second chance offers? The next highest bidder is a guy with established audio buying feedback but I fear that by sending out the second chance offers I will look like the shady one. Stupid ebay.
