My first SET/Pentode, that i still have is the Decware SE84C. It takes SV83 or EL84 tubes & produces a GLORIOUS 1.8wpc or 3.5wpc pentode via on the fly switch. It also takes 12AX7's or 6DJ8 types, & 5Y3GT rectifier. I called them up & said that the power tubes made distortion when moved ( very easily ), & they said " they will all be like that one day!" What service!? After all they let everyone build one of these! It is now sitting in a shoe box. On the other hand i have a NoRH SE9 that has been flawless! For about the same price (no longer available) it produces 9 wpc & takes EL34 & variant's Kt77 & a 5AR4 rectifier. And looks 100 times better with a polished stainless chassis & flat black face plate with power switch , volume & 2 input switch. With 2 massive potted transformers & probably weighs around 30 pounds!
