Hi,I purchased a 2A3 from TAL this past summer. I realllllly like the amp. Best audio decision I have made. You can reach me off line if you want to talk about some possible upgrades for your TAL amp.
Regarding transformers, here is what I did and would do:
1. Output transformers: Hashimoto. I really like these
2. Power transformers: I do not like the Hammond that came with the amp. I am going to get a different, hopefully upgraded brand like Lundahl, Electroprint or Magnequest, Dave Slagle or Monolith.
IF you have the money, get want you want the first time around. Don't think about upgrading latter, assuming you have the $s.
