I'd be curious to hear a comparo between the 45 and 2A3 where both use a more 45-like plate current to plate voltage ratio (and ~5k load). I think much of the 45's directness and clarity come from the ~1:7 ratio with 5k load... much higher than the common 2A3 and 300B 1:4 ratio with 2k5 load.Gordon Rankin, Thorsten and IIRC Dennis Fraker have alluded to the difference in presentation between the different ratios...
