I don't want an excellent amp, it really won't satisfy me.
Excellent SE amps are a plenty, and such amps don't cut it for my long term listening, ..... over twenty minutes time and I am bored.
They are really not excellent !! I must have a SUPERB amp.
I am guessing neither of these two amps you mention are KISS two-stage direct-coupled amps, and as such, they don't get or hold my interest at all these days.
After over fifty years of being in the audio game, in tubes, today, only a Loftin White variant (with what I call a modern supply) can remotely satisfy "my" tastes. YMMV.
One must keep in mind, we all come to the DIY hobby and audio art with different audio experiences and expectations.
I concur with Winston Churchill who once said " My tastes are simple: I am easily satisfied with the best ."
