Here is just "my take" on what you are asking :
(1) As soon as you put a coupling cap between the first stage and the Finals stage, the AMP is a big big compromise. (Thousands of DIY Loftin-Whites have proven this over the years.)
(2) As soon as you start using multiple amps with differing circuits in them, it is a big compromise versus ONE really really well made DC two stage amp driving the whole shebang.
Speakers are not as much of a problem as is the AMPs, and the amps are almost ALL turkeys, crap.
