Hello Al,

I have the Simple 45/2A3 and the 2A3DX from JE Labs since 2008. When I completed building the latter, I use 5K load (James 6123HS with 2.5k/3.5k/5k) and it sound great. During the same year, I visited Joseph Esmilia's place and he was running his 2A3DX using 3K primary load and sounded very very nice.

I switched my amp to run on 3.5 K for 4 months, then tried 2.5 k for a month, then back to 5K. I ended up using 3.5K and still have that configuration on my amp ever since. I would say that from my experienced, the 3.5K sounds better than the other two loads I tried. I use the amp to drive Altec 288C/416 two way speakers.
