I'm not sure of the efficiency of the Valencias (JBL are usually pretty good). Many moons ago a friend and I built two SET's with 2A3 output tubes driven with a 6SL7G. He built an original Klipsch La Scala clone with a JBL LE-15A with 375 drivers and some model 2200 or 2300 or something horns. And an 077 tweeter. I remember hand-winding the chokes for the crossover.Darn system really sounded pretty nice. And loud, too! At the time you could still get NOS/NOB JAN-CRC Radiotron BP 2A3 and Sylvania VT-229 for a semi-reasonable price.
He bought my Nak ZX-9 and I believe that he still uses that system. Has some fancy turntable whose base is made outta what looks like bulletproof Lucite---forgot the brand.
