Single Ended Triodes (SETs), the ultimate tube lovers dream.

Gear doesn't matter much with interconnect selection and...

IMHO, you are throwing money away if you spend any more than
about, say, 40$ or so per 1-meter pair of interconnects --seriously.
I know I may unleash a sh**storm with some of the goofs in this
forum who doubtless have spent hundreds on various voodoo cables,
but I can hold my ground on this assertion.

I design and build tube amps and preamps from scratch, and DO spend
LOTS of money in areas where it really does make marked sonic
difference: Tubes, transformers, often capacitors, phono carts,
loudspeakers, etc. Let the credulous blow money on power cords
and interconnects, I say. So CAN different cables SOMETIMES, make
a very SLIGHT DIFFERENCE sonically?: sure, you bet --but the key
words here are SLIGHT and SOMETIMES. If the rest of your gear is
competent and has nice sonics, then that is what you want.

BOTTOM LINE: the interconnects will NOT make or break the sonics
of your system (unless they are absolute pure crap) --period.

My advice: set an absolute ceiling of $60 per 1-meter pair, and
be open to the possibility you may find some interconnects below
$30. For example: I'm using inexpensive Acoustic Research Pro II cables which are only $25 a 1-meter pair. They have pretty nice
machined gold-plated connectors, are well shielded --do the job
just fine for my finicky ears. Bought 'em from Parts Express
online. I'm sure there are others...

Fanatics may squeal at the heresy, but you can take your money
saved and pick up a new phono cartridge, a bunch of new music,
some nice new NOS tubes for your preamp, or many other things which
actually make a worthwhile improvement in your listening pleasure.

Good Luck

-Tom
