Numbers do not work out well for 96dB effeciency at 2W. 96dB + 3dB for two speakers -10dB for 3M distance = 89dB at 1W, 92dB at full-power *clipping*. That's just not enough. I would say another 3dB is necessary. Small room, with lots of room gain? Then yes.Anyway, I am finding that even the Druids at 101dB (claimed) just don't quite do it on 3W 2A3s in large room. They sound good, but sound better even at moderate volumes with more power (8W). I don't know why this is, unless the efficiency is exaggerated (not saying anything) or the large driver is a serious current load.
In fact maybe I should just sell the 45s and get 300Bs.
