Gordon,I've followed (albeit infrequently) your posts over the years and am surprised by your condemnation of the humble 2A3 (FWIW my personal preference has always been the 211). I'm assuming you haven't heard or do not care for Kondo's modest fist generation 2A3 Neiro in a sympahetic system. I seriously considered letting go of my Ongaku when I played them A to B - but to each his own.
Experience has taught me, it's about application; not simplistic predilection (sp) for valve type.
Keep an open mind...
