Depends on Value of Grid resistor...

being fed by the coupling cap. The larger the coupling capacitor,
the lower the bass cut-off frequency is. If your amplifier has a
well designed power supply with adequate low-frequency isolation
between the various stages, then going to a 1.0uf will not
hurt a bit, and may indeed give you stronger perceived bass
response. If, however (and this is quite common) their is
inadequate low freq isolation/stability in your circuit, then
you could get "motorboting" oscillation and related distortion.

If you send me a schematic, I can tell you what will likely be
the case. If you just want to experiment, then you can try
first an inexpensive 1.0uf Solen Fastcap, of some other el-cheapo
and see if you get any odd behavior before buying a more expensive
cap.

Also: I disagree with other postings here, in that I would say
there is VERY LITTLE to be gained by buying pricey cathode bypass
electrolytics, and/or pricey supply electrolytics. I have played
with this sort of thing at length, and IMHO this is a very
cost-ineffective way to net a sonic gain --and that is somewhat
doubtfull.

Good Luck.
