Those are nice pictures. That's a great looking amp. That's one of his best looking ones. The outside of the amps certainly evolved since his earlier ones.He took old organ amp chasses, silver color, made of a very good metal for amp chasses, and he started from scratch. He ripped everything out of them, cleaned up the metal chassis, and planned the amp he was going to build on it/in it. The chasses varied in size but they are of substantive weight. They are a highly conductive metal. Then he put the monster power transformer back, and put his 40-50 hours in the amp. He claims 40-50 hours but it could have been more.
It really has a strong industrial look to it. Interestingly, John had an interest in model trains, and it kind of has that look too.
