Sun Audio: IMHO a good bargain indeed...

Consider the following:
For openers, The Sun Audio uses really nice OPT transformers. Really,
the output transformer is the central component of a tube amp, and the one who's qualities will largely determine the limits of what an
amplifier is capable of sonically. Attempting to save money by
purchasing a unit with lesser quality OPT's is really a recipe for
dissapointment, and expensive uprgrade costs later--no bargain.

Also consider the Sun Audio units are classically styled using
proven topologies, tubes, and construction methods. No flukey
tubes or "tweek dujour" circuit design. Sun is a company which
has been around since the 1980's building classic tube gear,
and has established itself a very good reputation as a quality
builder of tube gear. I'm sure some of the other units mentioned
here by other inmates are fine units in their own right, but
frankly I doubt any of them will retain much value through time
as compared to the Sun.

FYI: I do not own any Sun gear, nor am I affiliated in any way
with the company -- I build and operate my own SET amps. I have,
however, been impressed with the design, pricing, and sterling
reviews of the SV-2A3 for some time. If I were not a self-designer,
them I would not hesitate for a second to buy an SV-2A3.
