Shuguang 2A3C - Hum problem

I received a set of these tubes last week. The sound that I'm getting is nice but they seem to have considerably more hum than my Sovtek or RCAs. I can hear almost no hum at the woofer from the Sovtek or RCAs, so I wondering what would make brand new tubes have such a undesirable hum? During quiet passages the hum is too noticeable to ignore.
An audio buddy of mine suggested pinching the tube pins a bit to attempt to get a better contact with the pin sockets.
I'm open for suggestions.
oh, my amps are Wright Sound Company WPA 3.5 2A3 monos.
