Well, the data sheets I've seen list the maximum plate dissipation for an 845 as 100 watts, and the typical expectation is that you get about 1/4 that as output (class A, SE), so 25 watts out - maybe it is closer to 30 watts out, but it ain't 50. However, I'd suspect it might be the impedance demands of the speakers that contribute to the problems rather than the sensitivity. I'm guessing at this, I have not seen the impedance plot of the speakers.
