"This is a pic of the nearfield Abbey's and a 6sn7/26/45 amp. I use a Rotel 975 cd player, probably my favorite low cost player.
The sound is raw and alive. Probably my favorite sound in the house. I wish I could get more gain before distortion sometimes. But this is the system I retreat to the most when I can".





"The underside of a parallel 26/45 amp. it needs a pre for sufficient gain. John could not fit any more driver tubes on the chassis so it has a separate pre. It's is just to show that John felt he was making his amps better and better from experience through more forethought in his organization of the electronics. I don't think it really led to better sound though. It was just that his confidence kept increasing and he took more pride in every aspect of the amp".
