Tube rolling 12au7 in Ming Da MC 7R pre amp

Hi guys

I know some of you have? have worked with the above pre amp...
I it uses 1 x 5Z3 , 2x 12ax7 (subbed with 5751) and 2 x 12au7....I am very interested in subbing the 12au7s with 12bh7...Any experiences here. Would an ECC99 be a further plausibility? Would I be taking a risk damaging the amp?
