unless they use separate filament transformers (and the ASL 1006-845s I had did not), you are stuck switching on the HV (DC) side of things. Switching the AC is much safer and much preferred. But, with all the power coming from one power tranny, thats' not feasible as a stand-by option.For serious use, the best is to wire up a vacuum relay (or even a normal relay if it can handle the voltage - some can) and use that to switch the HV.
