Hey xavier, If you feed the 6.3V driver heaters from one PGP8.1, you can use the other 6.3V secondary for a 6BY5, which will draw 1.6A. The 6BY5, in addition to generating a lot of heat and providing an additional voltage drop (not too bad) has two independent diodes. I think (?) you could add a single diode to each B+ supply, just after your solid state rectifiers. If it works, the diodes would provide a softer start for your amp. .. --keto
