Hello Thorsten...... I'll restate: Yes, I tried the Sovteks (in my system they did not create music, and were essentially worthless). I tried the Chinese as well (generic black bottom, good improvement over the Sovtek, but only a little of the 300B magic). No, I did not try the Svetlanas, or the WE. I guess ultimately, the true point I wanted to communicate (and did not), was that perhaps (?) you should re-evaluate the JJ in other contexts/systems/settings (or perhaps different samples with bases/envelopes which are not defective). I was not trying to "defend" the tube. I just feel so utterly elated, to get so much enjoyment from the music, that my system outputs during operation (with the JJ's installed). AND.... I think I'm not alone in that regard. Thus, I don't believe it's less than stellar performance during the review, is typical. And perhaps this tube exhibits a very strong synergy (mania) in my Assemblage amp, and in your experience/system something which was the antithesis of synergetic (depression). I just felt that perhaps you were dismissing it out hand [ "While I can recommend most Valves within this line-up (with the exception of the JJ" ]. And because of your review, some people might miss out on it's unmistakable (but obviously not universal) joy. Elmo
