I believe one 2-foot panel straddling absorbs more than two 2-foot panels flat on the walls. But I never measured this so I'm only guessing. I can tell you that lining all the corners (flat) using 6-inch thick rigid fiberglass works very well as shown in my company's Hearing is Believing video.
